Dansk My name is Per Tofting, and I live in Brønderslev with my wife and three children. I love being out in nature, whether it's foraging for mushrooms or wood for fly holders, and especially for fishing. I have tried various types of fishing. In recent years, it has mainly been the pursuit of coastal sea trout, sea bass, and mullet. In the river, it is primarily the hunt for sea trout, preferably with foam flies. My favourite fishing takes place for about a month each year when Emphemera danica dances over the banks. During this time, I catch fine brown trout and large sea trout that come up to take the mayfly imitations.
I love tying flies, especially creating new patterns and testing them on the fish afterwards. Mostly, I tie coastal flies, but I tie flies for all my own fishing. I am fortunate to have good fly-tying friends where I live, and during the winter months, we meet once a week for fly-tying and a beer. We go by the name Grimbergenklubben.
